The Cycle

THE CYCLE tracks a day in the life of a young Punjabi housewife in Chandigarh, India who isobsessed with losing weight as she joins a cycling club and grapples with the cost ofindividuality and freedom.

Arpita Mukherjee is an award-winning, NYC-based writer, director, and co-founder and Artistic Director of Hypokrit. She directed the short film Running (Best Short Film – Chicago South Asian Film Festival); co-wrote feature film Gulmohar on Hulu (Filmfare Best Screenplay Award, National Award); and developed projects for WIIP, AMC, Sony, and Netflix.
