Pass the Salt

Karan Archana Singh is a Montréal-based filmmaker and writer and his work blends emotionally grounded storytelling with bold genre shifts. From diasporic-generational dramas like Mum Singh, Pass the Salt and ZiA to upcoming thrillers and sci-fi like The Boy at Irwin’s and A Drop of Water, his work reimagines genre through a diasporic, deeply personal lens. Karan has developed his projects through leading programs and labs like the Canada Film Centre’s screenwriting program (ZiA – feature), SODEC’s Short Film Competition (Pass the Salt – Short), P.R.I.S.M.E – Canada Media Fund and Main Film filmmaker’s lab (ZiA – feature) and the Whistler Screenwriting Lab (Difference – feature).
