Ahon (“Rise”)

In Filipino, “ahon” means to rise, emerge, or break through a surface. “Ahon” recounts the rise of the K8 Mountaineering Club of Alberta, drawing parallels between climbing and the obstacles immigrants must overcome.

Trixie Pacis

Trixie Pacis is a Filipina-Canadian filmmaker based in Kimberley, British Columbia. Trixie currently has three short films on the mountain festival circuit. Her documentary work amplifies overlooked voices and communicates environmental stories. Her first feature screenplay, Dil Rakh: Gloves of Kin, is available in Canada on Tubi and Amazon.
